Is Jay-Z doing some early scouting for the Nets? The Roc Nation CEO and resident king of hip hop was spotted in the Kentucky Wildcats locker room after the team celebrated a huge win against the North Carolina Tar Heels earning a spot in the Final Four.
Darius Miller shared his experience of meeting Hov in the locker room during the press conference:
“That was crazy, I had to do a double take. I didn’t expect that at all. I just had to get a picture with him. That in itself was a pretty nice experience to add on to the Final Four. Going to the Final Four [is bigger] by far. But still, Jay-Z. It’s crazy. This whole day has been crazy. I’m still taking it all in.”
Terrence Jones also added:
“I said, ‘Oh that’s Jay-Z! We all gave him a handshake and he came in the locker room, and we just kept screaming ‘Jay-Z in the locker room!’ He congratulated us, just said he was proud of us.”
The music Gods are definitely showing Jay-Z some favor! Longtime music staple and R&B, soul great Sade has requested the Roc Nation superstar for a remix to one of her songs.
Jay raps alongside the British songstress, who is known for avoiding collaborations with artists throughout her career, on the remix to “The Moon and the Sky,” a track found on last year’s platinum-selling Soldier of Love.
The remix, along with two other never-before-heard recordings, will appear on Sade’s double-disc set The Ultimate Collection. The 28-track offering also features classic Sade songs and will arrive May 3rd.
Now not only did he manage to hop on a track with one of the most sought after artists of our time, but he somehow managed to marry R&B’s reigning queen Beyonce, had Oprah in the projects AND keeps Obama on the text…I’m definitely scared of what Jay-Z is gonna do next!
And ya’ll wonder why they call him the greatest…
It’s official. First, big brother, Jaden Smith, got his opportunity to star in a big movie remake “Karate Kid.” And now it’s kid sister, Willow Smith’s, turn. The 11-year-old officially signed on to star in the remake of the musical “Annie.”
Overbrook Entertainment partners Will & Jada Pinkett Smith recently partnered with Jay-z to develop major motion picture films and one of the current projects will be the re-make of “Annie” starring Willow. According to a press release from Roc Nation, the partnership began over dinner with Jada, Will, and Jay-z, where they decided to co-invest in the successful product line Carol’s Daughter. They continued this partnership as co-producers of the successful Broadway production Fela!, which earned a total of eleven Tony Award nominations last year. Continue reading
