Ne-Yo Fires Backup Dancers For Not Wanting To Perform In Japan

22 Mar

The Donald isn’t the only one saying “You’re Fired!” lately…Ne-Yo had to drop the F-bomb on a few of his backup dancers recently.

According to published reports, the dancers didn’t want to travel to Japan where the singer has a series of concert dates lined up because they feared for their safety in the tsunami stricken country.

Ne-Yo’s manager informed the dancers that despite their safety concerns — specifically the threat of aftershocks and exposure to radiation — they were still going ahead with the Japan dates as scheduled. But four dancers decided not to make the trip to Japan. As a result, those dancers were told by the tour manager they were dropped from the rest of the tour, which ends in Korea on March 30th.

Ne-Yo has two more shows in Japan, March 22nd and 24th, with some proceeds from the shows going to victims of the earthquake.

Way to put your foot down Ne-Yo!

Snooki Fires Back At Ne-Yo’s Comments on Her Rolling Stone Cover

16 Mar

Last week, Ne-Yo vented his frustrations on Twitter after Rolling Stone featured ‘Jersey Shore’ reality star, Snooki, on the cover of its magazine. Snooki responded to Ne-Yo’s comments to US Magazine:

“I was just really upset. I’m a big fan of Ne-Yo. Every song was on my iPod and I deleted them yesterday just because of his comments. Why do you hate me? Continue reading

Ne-Yo Disses Snooki’s Rolling Stone Cover

9 Mar

When MTV created the reality TV series Jersey Shore, they created a reality juggernaut. The show’s stars have catapulted the show’s success by getting endorsements, sponsors, fragrances and appearances. This even includes magazine covers.

A couple of weeks ago, Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi graced the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine, and while many quietly voiced their distaste for the reality star’s presence on the cover, singer/songwriter Ne-Yo shared his frustration via Twitter:

Wow. Snooki is on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Really? I quit. (Just kidding, but almost serious….) No disrespect to Snooki, I don’t know her, but damn Rolling Stone? REALLY? REALLY! I guess…..

I feel a rant coming on, but at the sake of sounding like I’m complaining or even hating, Imma chill. I got y’all. New album on the way. I WILL get the respect I deserve in this business or I won’t be in this business. PERIOD. Have a #splendid day twit fam!! I gotta take this opportunity to thank those that recognize what I am regardless of what I do or don’t sell, what a blog hag says I am, etc. Fun is fun, mayhem is entertaining, but COME ON PEOPLE!! There’s gotta be some sort of balance somewhere! Man, GOD bless the biz….

I do agree with artists, actress, and actors that having Snooki on the cover of Rolling Stone sends the wrong message. It suggests that being a pseudo reality star generates more publicity than being hardworking and having actual talent.
