Seems like a celebration is in order!
Final sales numbers for the week are in and Chris Brown’s “F.A.M.E” album will claim the top spot on Billboard this week with over 273k sold. F.A.M.E is his second highest selling album to date, Continue reading
Last week was one of ups and downs for Chris Brown. And things just got a little more interesting since he and his previous publicist, Tammy Brook (pictured), have parted ways. Initially, there were reports that Brook quit after Brown’s outburst on GMA, but Necole Bitchie reported that Brook was actually fired.
“It was something that was in the works for a while, his team wasn’t happy with her and their contract was up“.
I thought Brook did a good job considering she helped bring Chris back to life after the Rihanna incident had him blacklisted and nearly ended his career. Tammy tells TMZ:
“I am an entertainment/music publicist and was hired as a publicist, as they often are, to work specifically on his music publicity for the term up to the release of Chris Brown’s F.A.M.E. album, which was released on Tuesday March 22 and is entering the Billboard and iTunes charts at number 1 this week.
I love and support Chris and it has been an honor to be a part of this album and I look forward to the possibility of working with him again in the future.”
With clients that included Terrell Owens and Mike Tyson, Tammy knows a thing or two about managing a crisis! A new publicist has not been announced yet.
Big Sean’s been on a performance spree the last few weeks, hitting up SXSW in Austin, TX with his G.O.O.D. Music family as well as taking the stage alongside his label mate CyHi da Prynce at XXL’s Freshmen concert on Tuesday (March 22).
Now Big Sean is taking a step further mainstream by dropping a video for his song “My Last” featuring Chris Brown, which is set to appear on his debut album “Finally Famous: The Album.” The video shows footage of Big Sean back in 2005, early in the rapper’s career. I like the way the video shows the rapper’s journey. Check it out!
Keri Hilson and Chris Brown released the video for their new sultry single “One Night Stand,” which was co-written by Kevin McCall and Chris Brown.
This song definitely brings up memories of old collaborations between Aaliyah and Ginuwine in the late 90’s. Keri’s vocals and the dance sequence just scream late 90’s, when R&B was dominating the charts.
I’m digging the video and the song.
Yesterday tweet from Willow’s twitter read: “So Chris Brown is going to prison now breaking a window at ABC but he didn’t go for hurting Rihanna?” Now you know this didn’t make Mama and Papa Smith very happy!
It was later reported that Willow’s twitter account had been hacked…you know I don’t believe that!
Despite Chris Brown’s outburst on Good Morning America, C Breezy will have a lot to celebrate next week when the final sales numbers are released. While Brown stated he wanted to sell a million records his first week (ain’t nothing wrong with dreaming big), it is predicted that he will sell roughly 250-275k units. According to Hits Daily Double, his release would be the second-largest of the year after Adele’s 351k sales debut.
In other news, Chris’s mom-manager is said to be very upset with Chris for his behavior yesterday. She immediately talked to him after the interview and reminded him of how hard he had worked to put his music out.
Chris appeared to “visibly calm down” after talking to Joyce the source said. “She has that impact on him. Joyce told Chris he was going to have to conduct himself with more control in interviews, because he will continued to be asked about Rihanna. Chris just feels like he can’t catch a break, and wants to move on from what happened. Joyce encouraged Chris to express himself through his musical performances though, and she told him to take any negative energy he is feeling, and channel it into the music.”
Meanwhile, he is still scheduled to perform on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars next week, despite rumors that ABC would cancel the performance since the popular dance show is on ABC’s network.
Was Chris Brown’s Outburst at Good Morning America this morning all an act?
This was one of many points raised by the hosts on ‘The View’ yesterday while discussing Chris Brown’s incident on Good Morning American. Following the R&B singer’s abrupt exit from the studio he tweeted, “I’m so over people bringing this past sh*t up!!! Yet we praise Charlie sheen and other celebs for there bullsh*t!“. He later deleted it.
According to Joy Behar, some people are wondering if it’s all an act to create the same type of buzz as Charlie Sheen. Sherri Shepherd added in, that people aren’t going to let Chris pull a “Charlie Sheen” and Joy responded by saying, “He’s not worth what Charlie Sheen is to the network.” Continue reading
