Gucci Mane is about to follow in the footsteps of T.I…
The Southern rapper was ordered by a judge in court today to spend 30 days in a medical treatment center until his next hearing.
“The court ordered Mr. Davis into treatment of a medical treatment facility, pending a revocation hearing later this month.” Gucci’s lawyer, Michael Holmes told XXL.
During the hearing, Gucci was also informed that he will more than likely be sentenced to 17 months in jail for violating the terms of his probation back in November.
His next court date is at the end of the month. Why are so many rappers hopping on the merry-go-round of court dates and jail? Let’s hope Gucci, T.I. and DMX can somehow get their lives back on track, and not for their fans or rap music, but more importantly for themselves and their families.
Just moments ago a Fulton County Superior Court Judge has ordered that Radric Davis better known as Gucci Mane be remanded to prison for a violation of probation stemming from an arrest last year. The rapper’s attorney requested that the judge allow him to be on an ankle monitor, however his probation officer fought vigorously to have him placed in custody for which the judge agreed.
Rapper Gucci Mane is facing a prison term of 17 months if he is in fact found guilty of the violation. Hip Hop Enquirer’s Dennis Byron was on the scene to bring this breaking news story. A hearing date has been set for January 24th, 2011 in Fulton County Superior Court.
After being arrested a few weeks ago for a parole violation, DMX has been placed in a mental unit for a minimum term of 30 days. I’m definitely not surprised by this news. In fact, I’m glad he is in the care of this facility because he truly needs help. So much of his talent and legacy became tarnished due to the drugs and criminal activity.
DMX was moved to Flamenco Mental Health Unit, which is located in an Arizona State Prison Complex. After pleading guilty to violating terms of his probation, DMX was sentenced to a year in jail on December 16, 2010. Judge Christine Mulleneaux told the rapper at his sentencing she believes he has an undiagnosed mental condition that could be possibly be bi-polar disorder. Continue reading
Chris Brown graduated…from domestic violence class, and he’s proud of it. The R&B/ Pop singer tweeted a picture of his certificate with the simple words, “I’m done with class.”
The singer was sentenced to five years probation and six months of community labor last year after being found guilty of assaulting then-girlfriend, singer Rihanna. The class is the second part of his sentence that the singer finished, and now he’ll be on probation until 2014.
Breezy also tweeted:
“I have enough self respect and decency to be proud of accomplishing this DV class. Boys run from their mistakes. Men learn from them!” Continue reading
According to TMZ, cops raided rapper Waka Flocka Flame’s Georgia home this morning on suspicion of prostitution. Waka’s mom stated that Gucci Mane was put in hand cuffs. Since the initial incident Gucci was let go. But TMZ reported that law enforcement sources in Henry County are investigating possible prostitution. Cops reportedly found marijuana and weapons inside the home. According to neighbors, there is still police presence outside Waka’s home. Waka’s mom claimed her son wasn’t home, but that if he doesn’t show up soon the cops will issue an arrest warrant. Waka is still AWOL, but law enforcement confiscated the guns — a Kel-Tech .223 caliber sub gun, and a Taurus .40 caliber semi-automatic — as well as prescription drugs from his house.
