Drake Almost Arrested In Jamaica

17 Mar

Drizzy Drake broke the law and was almost tossed in the slammer in Jamaica recently. During Mavado’s performance at the Brit Jam Music Festival, he invited Drake to join him on stage and while hyping the crowd, Drake tested out his Jamaican accent and said, “Everywhere me go, me seh Jamaica to the blood clot world.”

According to Miss Info, Drake broke the law by saying “blood clot” which is considered an offensive curse word in Jamaica. The country has an “indecent language” law which prohibits artists from using profanity and offensive language, of which Drake was warned about before hitting the stage.

After he said the word, his security eventually whisked him off stage before he could be apprehended by any officers.

L.A. Judge Orders The Game To Pay $91,000 Jewelry Debt

9 Feb

To be the boss you gotta pay the cost…and I guess The Game wasn’t paying.

According to TMZ:

The Game is officially on the hook … again … this time for $90,999 — after the rapper allegedly failed to pay for some ridiculously expensive custom jewelry he commissioned over three years ago. An L.A. judge handed the order down last week…demanding Game—real name Jayceon Taylor — settle his astronomical balance with jewelry company Lemmerman’s Inc. stat.

According to the original complaint — filed in L.A. last year — Game ordered the following from 2007-2008:

– a 14K white gold 36″ chain with white stones for $15,000
– a 14K yellow gold 36″ chain with yellow stones for $15,000
– a diamond stud for $4,000
– a 14K white gold 5-row bracelet for $17,500
– a 14K yellow gold 5-row bracelet for $17,500
– two other gold “pieces” for $30,000

That’s $99,000 total — and while Lemmerman’s claims Game paid off a huge chunk a few years ago, he hasn’t coughed up a penny since … and now owes the balance plus interest, etc. Calls to Game’s people haven’t been returned.

Juelz Santana Turns Himself Into Police

3 Feb

These rappers just don’t seem to learn…obviously being a famous rapper doesn’t mean anything anymore. You break the law, they’re on you! Dipset rapper Juelz Santana turned himself into police yesterday (Feb 2) for a warrant that was issued last month after his studio was raided and busted with drugs and guns.

According to sources, police had been looking for Santana since the Santana Studio in North Bergen, New Jersey was raided on January 20th. According to The Record, Juelz was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm, possession of a handgun without a permit, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school.

Juelz was not present when the studio was raided, but a Skull Gang associate named Toby “Hynief” Raynor was busted after a ten month undercover investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutors Gang Unit.

“We are hopeful that my Brother will be released tonight,” Jermaine “Twin” James, Santana’s older brother and Manager told in a statement. “He is just being processed through the system right now. I posted his bail earlier today.  All computers are currently down at the Prosecutor’s Office,” Twin said.

Two loaded 9mm handguns were found in the studio, along with 17 small bags of marijuana. “Santana was out-of-town at the time of Raynor’s arrest,” added Lynn Hobson, Juelz’ publicist. “We are just looking forward to having this whole situation cleared up.”

Police claim Juelz is a member of the feared Bloods street gang, which according to a recent report on gang activity in New Jersey, is the biggest street gang in the state. Juelz Santana, born Laron James, is currently being held at the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack on $125,000 bail.

Another day, another rapper headed to jail *sigh* what’s new…

Chris Brown Tries To Lift Rihanna’s Restraining Order

30 Jan

Chris Brown wants to creep a little “closer” to his ex girlfriend Rihanna….well sort of.

The R&B singer appeared in an L.A. courtroom yesterday (Fri. Jan 28) for a probationary progress report hearing in the Rihanna domestic violence case. At the hearing, his attorney Mark Geragos asked the judge to remove the 5-year restraining order set in place 2 years ago when Brown pleaded guilty to assault charges.

Geragos expressed to Judge Schngegg how good his client has been doing over the past couple of years, having completed his court mandated 52-week domestic violence counseling sessions and nearly 600 hours of community labor (out of 1400 hours), and requested that the existing restraining order against Brown be removed.

“It makes it difficult at award shows and such,” Brown’s lawyer explained. Continue reading
