Chris Paul Carted Off On Stretcher During Cavs Game

7 Mar

Last night, Hornets guard and NBA superstar Chris Paul suffered a frightening head injury during the game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. In the third quarter, Paul attempted to recover a loose ball which resulted in a head-on collision with Cav’s player Ramon Sessions. Moments after the hit Paul was carted off the floor on a stretcher.

Mary Schmitt Boyer who runs the PDCavsInsider Twitter account first reported on the injury:

Chris Paul face-down on the court after a hard collision with Sessions. New Orleans calls timeout to check on him

They’re bringing out the stretcher for Chris Paul. Looks like his head bounced off the floor on replays? Not sure.

They’re immobilizing CP3′s neck as they put him on the stretcher.

Hornets players gathering around CP3. This is a little scary.

All the players on both teams are around Chris Paul as medical team attends to him. Some holding arms in prayer.

On replays, it looks like Chris Paul plowed head-first into Ramon Sessions’ head. He went down immediately.

After a thorough examination, it was reported that Chris had suffered a concussion and was “moving his hands freely and talking.” He later rejoined the team at the Arena but will be sitting out tomorrow’s game against the Bulls.

The Hornets went on to beat the Cavs 96-81.
