Nelly Sets Sandra Rose Straight!!

29 Nov

In an earlier post, I discussed how Sandra Rose reported that a source inside Nelly’s camp stated that Universal gave some of Nelly’s album promotion money to Nicki Minaj, and as a result Nelly was upset with Universal and Nicki Minaj. Well Nelly took to Twitter to set the record straight. Nelly states:

“Wtf is @sandrarose talking about?! I did not lash out @nickiminaj! I am a fan and have nothing but respect and luv for nikki!”

Nelly Next In Line To Come At Nicki Minaj and Universal Records

29 Nov

Over the weekend, rapper Nelly took to Twitter and vented his frustration with his record label, Universal Records, for failing to promote his latest album, Nelly 5.0. Allegedly, Universal only shipped 200,000 albums to record stores. Sandra Rose reports that a source, who is close to Nelly’s camp, confidentially told her that Universal Records allocated most of Nelly’s marketing budget to promote up-and-comer Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday. According to Sandra Rose, “The source said Nelly was frustrated with the lack of promotion by Universal which led to decreased consumer awareness of his album. The source also said Nicki’s album took top priority over Nelly’s even though the critics say Nelly’s album is much better than Pink Friday. The source claimed some of Nelly’s promotional budget also went to maintain Nicki Minaj’s ‘image,’ which I took to mean her extensive plastic surgery, including hydrogel butt injections.”  Nelly 5.0 was released on November 12 and debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top Rap Albums chart, selling 63,000 copies in the first week.  But on Saturday, Nelly took to his Twitter page to publicly lash out at Universal Records (and by extension, Nicki) with tweets like this:

Rihanna Says She’s Tired of Talking about Chris Brown

29 Nov

Rihanna looks gorgeous (as usual) on the cover of British GQ. Is it possible for Ri Ri to take a bad picture? Didn’t think so. Inside the magazine, the singer talks briefly about the infamous incident with Chris Brown in 2008:

“Sometimes when you’re on the inside of a relationship like that, you can’t see it clearly for what it is. I left—it was the best feeling. It was so freeing. I witnessed it happening to my mum and I said I would never let that happen to me—and then it was happening. Now, when I look back, it bugs me out that I couldn’t see it for what it was.”

Later, while on Twitter, a fan questioned Rihanna continuing to speak on the incident with Breezy. Continue reading

R. Kelly Kills Soul Train Awards Performance

29 Nov

Last night, R. Kelly murdered his performance at the Soul Train Award Show. He opened his set with an acapella rendition of “Bump and Grind” and then performed a medley of songs that included “Your Body Is Calling Me,” “When A Woman’s Fed Up,” “Happy People” and his new song “When A Woman Loves.” Remember when Trey Songz called out R. Kelly, the original R&B baby maker, about falling into the music trend? Well looks like R. Kelly just reminded Trey and everyone why he is one of the greatest male R&B singers of all time.
